No Fail Tin Foil Print Mermaids

drawing painting Oct 22, 2022

Do you have a little mermaid lover at home? I do! And it’s me. Tin foil prints are a no-fail art activity that surprises all kids. The blended texture created is great for under the sea drawings, like Mermaids and Rainbow Fish.

Check out how to create this art lesson at home. PLUS I've added the printable colouring pages of my mermaid drawings for you to use too.

You can find the full length video project for my Tin Foil Print Mermaids inside my Art Club For Kids. Access my whole library of video art lessons for only $20 per month. Check it out here.

Here’s what you need:

Coloured Markers

Tin Foil

Masking Tape

Water Spray Bottle

A3 Art Paper

Sharpie Marker

Steps:

  1. Draw a design on your art paper using a sharpie marker. OR download and print my Mermaid Colouring Pages to use.

  2. Tape tin foil that is bigger than the size of your paper to a plastic mat or piece of news paper

  3. Colour over the tin foil with markers

  4. Spray the markers with water, you will see the ink start to blend

  5. Place your artwork face down, massage, then pull back to see your print!

The full length video lesson to create your own gorgeous Rainbow Mermaids is included in my Online Art Club for kids. You can find this lesson and over 50+ more for your children to do at home.
